This mid-century ring mount came to us missing the center gem but had such a cool Romanesque, sculpted look that we knew it was a keeper. The ring even has hidden filigree underneath the gem, a special treat just for the wearer. We chose this stunning Rhodolite Garnet as the new centerpiece of the ring because it has great size and amazing color. Rhodolite is a marriage of two red members of the Garnet family (Almandine and Pyrope) that merge to become a rarer hue: purplish red. This gem reminds us of a ripe Raspberry or fresh summer cherry- a vibrant red with strong purple and pink hues. This gem is MUCH more beautiful and sparkly in person than the photos can show, and at almost 10mm across, it has great presence. This is a fabulous ring for a January birthday, or anyone who loves this rich shade of red.
