19th Century Empire Wall Mirror, 1820s 19th Century Empire Wall Mirror, 1820s The piece retains a magnificent patina and is veneered in flame (pyramid) mahogany, accented with exquisite embossed brass appliqués. The sides feature inlaid decoration, while the moldings surrounding the mirror glass are traditionally gilded with gold leaf. The mirror preserves a noble patina, with the subtly muted, dark tones characteristic of aged mahogany. The object is in unrestored, very good condition, with some missing fragments of the cresting molding and individual strings of the inlay. Professional conservation of the mirror can be performed in our workshop upon prior agreement of the scope of work.
